In 1940 William Hanna and Joseph Barbera produced an American animated franchise and series of comedy short films.
The series, best known for its 161 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer theatrical short films, focusses on the rivalry between Tom and Jerry’s titular characters.
Tom and Jerry: The Film was released in 1992 as the first feature film and since 2002 there are 13 direct-to-video films, the latest live-action / animated hybrid film to be released in 2021.
Tom and Jerry: Purr Chance for Hope, a musical version of the series, premiered in Japan in 2019 before the eightieth anniversary of Tom and Jerry.

Mickey Mouse is the Walt Disney Company’s animated character and mascot. It was founded in 1928 in the Walt Disney Studios by Walt Disney and Ubi Works.
